Inspired by her signature song, “J’ai Deux Amours” (“I Have Two Loves”), the Deux Amours candle celebrates her supreme affection for both Paris and the United States, the two places she held deep in her heart and dramatically transformed her life. This candle is housed in an exquisite ceramic white and gold vessel adorned with our original illustrations of Josephine Baker dancing. It also features the sheet music for the song, where it was revealed that she hid secret notes on its pages written in invisible ink as she traveled throughout Europe performing while also working as an anti-Nazi spy for the French Resistance during World War II. 

The sparkling, citrus-infused opening of bergamot blossom melds beautifully with a nuance of aromatic cinnamon bark and the freshness of pure white ylang ylang. The velvet floral heart of rose centifolia and lavender buds is framed by the glow of golden labdanum, as a warm, sensual base of tonka bean, cedarwood and precious musks provide a sophisticated finish to perfectly encapsulate the emotion, romance and “Deux Amours” that were the heart and soul of Josephine Baker.
